| 内容記述 | This report presents the actual situation and problems in agriculture and animal husbandry in Mongolia and Inner Mongolia of China. Authors interviewed staff in the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Ministry of Nature and the Environment in Mongolia. Additionally, we visited the Mongolia National Agriculture University under which are affiliated seventeen research institutes (six central institutes, three regional institutes, four regional stations and four veterinary laboratories). In Inner Mongolia, we visited the Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Academy of Animal husbandry in Hohhot. With information obtained from researchers in these institutes and by visits with farmers and nomads, we were able to report on research activities in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry in the two countries. Nomalic livestock production on native grasslands and livestock production on large runches using fodder were fully investigated. Mechanized large-scale farming in Mongolia and small-scale intensive agriculture in Inner Mongolia were also examined. In each field of research, potential subjects for future research collaboration with JIRCAS were outlined through discussion with Mongolian researchers. The nature of the climate, water resources and soil conditions, social conditions, economic situation, educational system, and living conditions were also examined. | |||||||||||||||||
