| 内容記述 | As human activities exceed ‘planetary boundaries’, it is recognized that the transformation of agrifood systems that utilize nature to sustain human life is the core of many global challenges. For this transformation to take place, it is essential to bring together academic disciplines spanning the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities to comprehensively consider complex factors. Agricultural economics, which lies at the center of this issue, is in a position to propose solutions. The agricultural experiences, views of nature, and ways of thinking that have been cultivated in diverse environments including Japan are sure to carry new perspectives, clues, and possibilities that differ from conventional Western-centered academic studies. Agricultural economics in a broad definition (social economics for coexistence with nature) plays a unique role in ensuring the sustainable survival of humanity. | |||||||||
